James Lavelle presents : Urban Archaeology – A Classic Mo’ Wax Def Mix

Now that it has leaked all over the web, I thought that I’d share it… I’m sure this website is the best place for it :)

So here’s the exclusive mix that James Lavelle has made for the Mo’ Wax Urban Archaeology Kickstarter campaign, and that has been available with the £5 pledge and 3 of the bundles. It then should be “exclusive” to 297 people only, but who would expect a digital download to remain exclusive?…

I won’t share the download link and let you do the quick job of finding it by yourself if you like. I’ve just uploaded it to Mixcloud and made the (not originally available) tracklisting.

Suprisingly the mix features some non-Mo’ Wax tunes, even though some of them are from albums that had a little Mo’ Wax logo on the cover (UNKLE Never Never Land and DJ Shadow The Private Press). In my opinion this is not the ideal tracklisting for a “best of Mo’ Wax” mix, but it was a good idea to include the lesser known still excellent Circles by the Psychonauts amongst the obvious Shadow or Krush anthems.

The credits are “Mixed by James Lavelle, edited by Matthew Puffett”. The latter is best know as Future Beat Alliance, a House / Techno producer responsible for a number of UNKLE remixes since the Never Never Land era.
